M3 real works by connecting a micro SD card to your Nintendo DSi console, DS Lite or the original version. To use it for homebrew games, you first need to download them from the Internet. There are many websites which provide links to homebrew downloads. Once you have downloaded the game, next you need to copy the file onto your SD card. To do this you will need an SD card reader in your computer or a USB to SD adaptor; luckily if you don’t already have these the M3 simply comes with one so you won’t need to shell out more money for one (another reason the M3DS real is such good value for money).

Once the homebrew files are on the SD card, you need to put it into your M3 DS. After it has clicked into place, you insert the M3 DS Real Rumble Pack into your Nintendo DSi consoles (or other versions of the handheld system) and you can load up the game you downloaded.

Homebrew means that the software was not developed by a large company but rather by an individual or small group. Because of this homebrew software is usually distributed freely on websites or via bit torrent communities. Homebrew games are not the only use of the M3DS however. M3 Real

Another great tool for the M3 DS Real is DSLibris, which after a quick download will let you use your system, whether it is the Lite edition, black DSi or any other variation, turn into an EBook reader. These types of applications are only available to people with an M3 Real and they are free. They are not produced for a mainstream releases because companies would not be able to turn them into profitable ventures (or maybe they could but they don’t want to take the risk). M3 Simply

The M3 DS Real is also known as the M3 Simply. Like the R4 Revolution there is a fair amount on name confusion (although thankfully not as much as with the R4). The M3 Simply does not support SDHC cards which are any SD card with more than 2GB of memory. This means the M3 Simply is not as good but you may not require more than 2GB of memory. If you are sure you won’t want to store any more you might as well select the M3DS Simply. If you are unsure, it is probably better to go for the M3 Real as it is only slightly more expensive and you won’t need to upgrade if for any reason (such as storing a large collection of MP3 files) you want to upgrade to a 32GB memory card.

M3DS Real

Also known as the M3 Nintendo NDS, the M3DS Real is the latest edition of the adaptor which lets you run files from an SD card on your Nintendo DSi console or any of the previous editions of the DS. The only difference between the M3DS Real and the M3DS Simply is that the Real is compatible with SDHC card. This means they can read card with upto 32GB of memory which you can buy on Amazon for under £50 (and we recommend you do as it is such good value). With a standard SD card (not SDHC (which means SD High Capacity)) you will only be able to store 2GB of data, which means you can store only one sixteenth of the games you could store on the M3DS Real.

M3 DS Real Rumble Pack

An M3 DS Real Rumble Pack has all the normal features of the M3 DS Real but also includes a rumble pack which means you can experience vibration as feedback from in game activities. Of course if you’ve read above you’ll also know the M3 DS Real Rumble Pack lets you use homebrew applications to turn your Nintendo DSi console (or any other edition of the system) into an ebook reader, mp3 player, video player, office suite and many more interesting things. This is amazing value and the value of your purchase will continue to increase as more applications are released. Nintendo DSi Console

The Nintendo DSi console is the latest edition of the DS series. It has many improvements both minor and major. This means that if only a small group of people see a need for a particular type of software, then it can still be made and will satisfy those Nintendo DSi console owners.
